Kiwanis Club of Manchester is a group of community-oriented people dedicated to enhancing, enriching and improving the lives of children and youth in our city. We do this through community service projects, fundraising efforts, and partnerships with area schools and organizations. Some of us are business and community leaders. Many are average folks. We are dreamers and doers. We are friends and neighbors. We are a family of dedicated volunteers.
Kiwanis Club of Manchester was chartered in 1921 and was the first Kiwanis Club in the state of New Hampshire. We are a completely volunteer-run nonprofit organization open to men and women interested in sharing their time, talent and treasure to improve the quality of life in Manchester. Our current list of Officers and Board Members can be found here.
Kiwanis Club of Manchester hosts meetings at various locations on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Members cover the cost of their own meals. Please see the calendar for more information; newcomers and visitors are welcome.
Our club meetings are informative, social and fun! We regularly have speakers from the local area and beyond to share information, organizations, happenings, and events.

The Kiwanis Mission & Vision
Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. Our Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through Kiwanis Service Projects.
Kiwanis Service
Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.
Our Kiwanis club focuses on changing the world by serving children, one child in our community at a time. To reach more people and have a greater service impact on their communities, many clubs sponsor a Kiwanis family club — K-Kids for primary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teens; Circle K clubs for university students and Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities.

The name “Kiwanis” was coined from an expression in a Native American language of the Detroit area, “Nunc Kee-wanis,” which means, “we trade” or “we share our talents.”
The YWCA operates two very needed shelters in Manchester: Emily’s Place and the REACH CRISIS CENTER. Manchester’s homeless population relies on the YWCA daily, knowing that they will supply them with hygiene products when they are in need. The YWCA NH also has partnerships with various other nonprofits to help with rapid rehousing, relocation services, food, clothing, and shelter needs.
We are proud of the work the YWCA NH provides, and they could not do it without community partnerships and help from organizations like Kiwanis!
Manchester Kiwanis continues to maintain and stock two book nooks in the city. They are wildly popular, we are in constant need of books.
Donations of books for ages 0-18 are appreciated and can be brought to club meetings or dropped off at The Majestic Theatre (880 Page Street, M-F 9-5, (603) 669-7469).
