The Kiwanis Club of Manchester is proud to support organizations that are working every day to keep young athletes safe.
We encourage our community to attend the 14th Annual Safe Sports Social, hosted by New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute.
This event brings together coaches, athletic trainers, healthcare professionals, and community members who are committed to protecting the health and safety of student athletes throughout New Hampshire.
Guests will enjoy networking, student demonstrations, raffles, and a live & silent auction — all while supporting important sports safety initiatives.
This week, the Kiwanis Club of Manchester had the honor of welcoming Chief Peter Marr of the Manchester Police Department as our guest speaker to share insight into the work happening every day to protect and serve our city.
Some key highlights from the discussion:
• Manchester is home to 115,000 residents • The Manchester Police Department is the largest in New Hampshire and the largest north of Boston • MPD operates across six divisions, including patrol, investigations, special enforcement, juvenile services, cyber crime, and narcotics enforcement • The department continues to prioritize community safety, youth protection, and proactive policing • Like many departments nationwide, recruiting and filling officer vacancies remains one of MPD’s biggest challenges
Chief Marr also discussed the department’s work supporting vulnerable children and families through programs addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the important work being done to keep Manchester safe.
Thank you, Chief Marr, for your leadership and service to our community. ❤️
