Our 2024 Major Emphasis grant is now in practice. Nonprofits serving youth that reside in Manchester are invited to apply for future grants. More information can be found here.
CELEBRATE WITH A CHILD (Service Project)
Kiwanis’ annual holiday party for local children. Kiwanis of Manchester proudly partners with local non-profits to give a memorable holiday experience to our guests. Kiwanis Manchester members serve as volunteers in many capacities to organize and execute this annual event. It’s a fun time of craftmaking, carol singing, sotroytelling, and more. The Man with the Bag himself, SANTA CLAUS even takes some time to visit with us. Many thanks to our partners, members of the Bedford, Memorial and West High Key Clubs and MPAL.
WALK WITH A CHILD (Service Project)
Each year in November or December, Kiwanis Club of Manchester invites children from local afterschool programs for an evening of shopping for winter clothes. Kiwanians are joined by partners from our affliated Kiwanis Key Clubs at Manchester West and Memorial, plus Bedford High Schools and students from St. Anselm College. All of us assist the kids with their “shopping.” A big thanks to Wal-Mart of Hooksett for hosting Walk with a Child. 2025 Photos
BOOK NOOKS (Service Project)
Kiwanis members maintain and supply books (provided) to 2 lending library locations in Manchester: Pulaski Park and Sweeney Park, supporting youth and teen literacy. This is done through book drives, regularly filling the libraries, and keeping them in good working order. It is anticipated that we will add more locations in 2024.
EASTER BASKETS (Service Project)
Every year around Easter we hold an event in partnership with the Manchester Housing & Redevelopment Authority to distribute Easter Baskets and gifts to local inner city children.
Last Wednesday we had the honor of hosting local inventor and innovator Dean Kamen. He shared stories and insights that had the entire room fully engaged. With about 30 people at the meeting, he easily could have gone on for hours. It was a remarkable experience.
We were also grateful to have Shana Hawrylchak, Executive Director of the SEE Science Center, join us. SEE has been one of our strongest community partners for years, and Shana’s leadership plays a huge role in bringing hands-on science and technology learning to kids here in Manchester.
Supporting organizations like SEE is one of the many ways Kiwanis strengthens our community and invests in the next generation. Dean, Shana, and everyone working to inspire young minds, thank you from all of us at Manchester Kiwanis. #1child1communityatatime #KidsNeedKiwanis #getactive #bekind... See MoreSee Less
Last week McDonough Elementary reached out. One of their fourth grade classes needed basic health and hygiene supplies to teach their students. I brought the request to our Kiwanis group and within a few days, right before Thanksgiving, our members stepped up and filled the entire list.
We delivered everything today. It’s just one of the many things we’re honored to do for the kids of Manchester and for the organizations that support them. We’re grateful for every chance to help.
