Kiwanis of Manchester continues to serve the youth of our community both in long standings service projects as well as through new ideas brought forward by it’s members.
Annual Service Projects Include:
Event Parking – In partnership with NBT Bank- Manchester, Kiwanis Club of Manchester parks cars for downtown Manchester events, including New Hampshire Fisher Cats games and SNHU Arena events. Kiwanis Parking is:
Centrally located at NBT Bank, 80 Canal Street, between 293 and Elm Street in Manchester.
Inexpensive. Only $20 per car, currently the cheapest lot near the arena!
Friendly. You will always be greeted by a warm Kiwanian.
Convenient. Your vehicle will never be blocked in.
Meaningful. Parking raises vital funds that are distributed to area nonprofit organizations
serving children. By parking with Kiwanis you support greater Manchester children’s charities.
Kiwanis Snacks – Kiwanis members come together to support the children at the Webster House children by providing snacks on the third Thursday of each month. Please visit THIS LINK to learn more about this monthly service project and/or to sign up to help.
Youth Leadership / Key Clubs – Like Kiwanis, Key Clubs focus on community service and leadership training. The Club’s sponsorship of Kiwanis Key Clubs in local high schools creates the opportunity for students to cultivate leadership skills and to embrace community service. Kiwanis Club of Manchester is proud to sponsor several junior service clubs at Manchester Memorial High School, Manchester West High School, and Bedford High School.
Each year, Kiwanis Club of Manchester presents deserving Key Club seniors from the clubs we sponsor with college scholarships. Applications can be accessed here once they are available.
Donation Drives – Throughout the year we collect toiletries, food, winter coats, and more through regularly scheduled Donation Drives organized by our members. We partner with other local non-profits to support their needs through this initiative.
Walk with a Child – Each year in November or December, Kiwanis Club of Manchester invites children from local after school programs for an evening of shopping for winter clothes. Kiwanians are joined by partners from our affliated Kiwanis Key Clubs at Manchester West and Memorial, plus Bedford High Schools and students from St. Anselm College. All of us assist the kids with their “shopping.” A big thanks to Wal-Mart of Hooksett for hosting Walk with a Child.
Celebrate with a Child – Kiwanis’ annual holiday party for local children. Kiwanis of Manchester proudly partners with local non-profits to give a memorable holiday experience to our guests. Kiwanis Manchester members serve as volunteers in many capacities to organize and execute this annual event. It’s a fun time of craftmaking, carol singing, storytelling, and more. The Man with the Bag himself, SANTA CLAUS even takes some time to visit with us. Many thanks to our partners, members of the Bedford, Memorial and West High Key Clubs and MPAL.
Book Nooks – Kiwanis members maintain and supply books (provided) to 5 lending library locations in Manchester supporting youth and teen literacy.. This is done through book drives, regularly filling the libraries, and keeping them in good working order. Current “Book Nooks” can be found at: Pulaski Park, Sweeney Park, Livingston Park, Webster House, and Simpson Park. PHOTOS
