This week, the Kiwanis Club of Manchester had the honor of welcoming Chief Peter Marr of the Manchester Police Department as our guest speaker to share insight into the work happening every day to protect and serve our city.
Some key highlights from the discussion:
• Manchester is home to 115,000 residents • The Manchester Police Department is the largest in New Hampshire and the largest north of Boston • MPD operates across six divisions, including patrol, investigations, special enforcement, juvenile services, cyber crime, and narcotics enforcement • The department continues to prioritize community safety, youth protection, and proactive policing • Like many departments nationwide, recruiting and filling officer vacancies remains one of MPD’s biggest challenges
Chief Marr also discussed the department’s work supporting vulnerable children and families through programs addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the important work being done to keep Manchester safe.
Thank you, Chief Marr, for your leadership and service to our community. ❤️
